Gaffney man sentenced to 4 decades behind bars for murder

A Gaffney man will spend the next 4 decades behind bars for murder. The 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office says, Zevonta Shands pleaded guilty to charges of murder and a weapons violation, Wednesday.

Court records show that Shands fatally shot a man identified as Michael McAllister Jr. in June of 2021. Evidence showed that a gun matching the murder weapons was found in Shands vehicle.

He also pleaded guilty to multiple unrelated charges. His sentences for those crimes will run concurrent to his 40 year sentence for murder.
