One person is dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting in the Upstate, earlier this week. The Spartanburg Police Department responded to a shooting on Lucerne Drive, around 9:20 PM Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers found a victim on the ground after being shot in the face.
The victim was taken to Spartanburg Regional, where he later died. The identity of the deceased has not been released, as of this time. The suspect 21 year old, Joseph Brenden Pool of Greenville had already fled the scene.
He was located at a grocery store in Spartanburg, about 30 minutes later and was arrested. Pool is charged with murder and a weapons violation.
