A Greenville man will spend the next 5 years behind bars for gun-running. The U.S. Department Of Justice says 32 year old, Kelsey Antonio McCallum was convicted after a two day trial for what they call "straw-buying" guns.
Court records show that McCallum bought more than 90 guns in more than 50 different purchases between 2018 and 2022, he would then travel to Maryland to resell them.
Prosecutors say, McCallum indicated on the federal firearms paperwork that he was the buyer, when he intended to re-sell the guns. Some of the guns were found at crime scenes in Maryland and other states.
McCallum has been sentenced to just over 5 years in federal prison, there's no parole or early release in the federal system.
