A man who gave authorities a fake name during his arrest, was identified by a tattoo and has now been sentenced to prison. In December 2024, Greenville County deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a hotel.

During a search, investigators found a bag containing more than 11 grams of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash. Authorities said both belonged to Christopher Hammett.Hammett initially gave deputies a false name, but investigators later identified him by his last name, which was tattooed across his back.


This week, He pled guilty to trafficking meth and second-degree domestic violence. According to the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor, Hammett has been sentenced to a decade in prison.
