The mayor of a Western North Carolina town has been arrested on a list of drug charges. The Graham County Sheriff's Office says, Shaun Larry Adams the mayor of Robbinsville, was arrested Monday.
He's charged with trafficking meth, intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine and meth and other drug crimes. Robbinsville is the county seat in Graham County and Adams has served as the Mayor for the last 4 years. The details of the investigation have not been released.
Graham County Sheriff Russell Moody said of the arrest "No one is above the law. It does not matter who you are or what position you hold". Adams is due to appear in court next week.
