Greenville County Deputies attempted a traffic stop in the area of Reedy Fork Road and Saddlebred Lane just after 2PM, Thursday. The stop was regarding suspected drug-related activity.
The driver initially stopped but then intentionally rammed a deputy’s patrol vehicle multiple times before driving away. A brief vehicle pursuit followed and deputies terminated the pursuit due to the significant danger posed to the public.
A short time later, the suspect vehicle was reportedly located by Greenwood County law enforcement, who picked up the chase into Laurens County. The vehicle subsequently wrecked and the driver fled the scene on foot.
The suspect 43 year old, Corey Scott Dutler was then taken into custody. Dutler is charged with aggravated assault, failure to stop for blue lights and Reckless Driving. That incident remains under investigation.
