A suspect wanted for attempted murder after a brutal beatdown is now in custody in Western North Carolina. The Polk County Sheriff's Office assisted the U.S. Marshals in apprehending 43 year old, Brooks Wayne Luckadoo.
He was wanted for attempted murder in Gaston County. Officials there say, in early February Luckadoo attacked a man, knocked him unconscious and continued beating him. The victim was hospitalized after the incident.
He was taken into custody in the Green Creek Community of Polk County. The apprehension was considered high risk due to Luckadoo's history of violence.
Luckadoo is being held in Polk County, awaiting extradition back to Gaston County.
