A Western North Carolina man will spend over three decades behind bars on multiple child sex crime charges. Officials say 68 year old, Robert Owen Couvillion entered guilty pleas to four counts of statutory rape.
Couvillion was arrested in 2024 by the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office. Investigators say, Couvillion repeatedly sexually abused a girl during a period of time while she was 13 through 16 years old.
He will serve between a minimum of 32 years and a max of 48 years in the North Carolina State Prison System.
