Do you really NEED ambient lighting that changes with your mood…heated and cooled cup holders…or heated armrests?
Or do you just need a comfortable, attractive three-row SUV that offers just about all the other luxury touches available these days + 5,000 lb towing capacity…and is priced maybe 10 – 15 thousand less than the high-end imports?
So, if you can live without lighting that pulsates to your music, Chevy's recently re-styled Traverse checks off just about every box that you're probably looking for…especially in top-of-the-line "High Country" trim.
Let's start with the looks. After all, looks DO sell vehicles, and today's Traverse brings a bit of trim, athletic, American character to your garage.
And when you climb inside, you're going to find just about everything that you expect…and maybe more.
Our $52K Traverse High Country gave us 20" alloys, heated and ventilated fronts and outboard heated rear seats, power lumbar, a big sunroof plus a fixed, shaded rear roof panel, a heated steering wheel, high-beam assist, wireless charging, power folding third row seats with hidden storage under, Bose 10-speaker audio, available surround-view that's a blessing in tight parking garages…and pretty decent mileage for a larger vehicle…18 MPG city and 27 Hwy.
And here's something else that you'll probably like. Chevy is starting to offer a rear-view mirror with a "TV View" option. It gives the driver a wide-angle view to the rear…so if you have four or five bobbin' heads in the back obstructing your vision, the TV view can be a lifesaver. This is so good, I suspect that it'll become mandatory over the coming years.
And speaking of lifesavers, Chevy offers a "Teen Monitor" that, as the name implies, can keep tabs on your young driver by their location, speed, and more.
Power comes from Chevy's proven 310 HP 3.6 liter six…and is delivered through a 9-speed automatic….and it's those 9 speeds that are largely responsible for the Traverse's more-than-adequate acceleration and those 27 MPG's.
Traverses start with window stickers right at 30K. Our $52,000 High-Country was on the high-end of the scale.
If you've got a crew to tote…but you don't need to tow a small house or a 42' boat, Chevy's re-styled Traverse should offer everything you need and then some.
