In honor of the women who served our country, The Atlanta Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. and the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge hosted their 6th Annual Veterans Day Program. Several of the original Tuskegee Airmen were recognized and honored for their contributions and historic service to the country, along with other African American men and women veterans who served in the armed forces.
Keynote speaker Stacey Abrams gave a rousing speech about the sacrifices and contributions women made in the military; she also reminded that veterans fought and died for our basic freedom to vote.
The Fair Fight Leader also introduced her newest initiative Fair Count and the importance of being counted in the 2020 census. During the ceremony, Several organizations presented the former gubernatorial candidate with several certificates and an honoree award.
Georgia State Senator Tonya Anderson, District 42, who served in the Air Force for more than 20 years, was the Mistress of Ceremony, and was honored with a certificate from The Atlanta Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
