March is Women's History Month, and March 8 happens to be International Women's Day. There'll never be enough time or space on the internet to list all of the great women throughout history who have made humanity proud, but we celebrate today with photos of some of our favorite women, including:

Maya Angelou  -- Poet, singer, memoirist, and civil rights activist

Coretta Scott King -- Civil Rights Movement icon

Dr. Mae Jemison -- First black woman to travel in space

Katherine Johnson -- Mathematician whose calculations helped NASA successfully complete America's first manned spaceflights

Beyonce -- International entertainment icon

Sheila Johnson -- Co-founder of Black Entertainment Television

Halle Berry -- First black woman to win Best Actress at the Academy Awards

Lena Waithe -- First black woman to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series

Claudette Colvin -- Refused to give up her seat on a crowded, segregated bus, preceding Rosa Parks, who began the Montgomery Bus Boycott
