AutoNsider: 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N AWD

Let's go a-huntin'!

And no…I don't mean that we're goin' to take this bad boy into the woods…

I'm talkin' about huntin' Vettes, Lambos, even McLarens!

Yes…give me a more neutral color than the "Arrest Me Orange" that we had on our test IONIQ 5 N, and turn me loose! This is one serious machine. Perhaps one of the fastest all-electric vehicles on the road today.

And on second thought, this might be one of the fastest, most technologically advanced vehicles on the road…gas or electric or hybrid…for under 7r0 thousand.

Here's why:

The raw horsepower only tells part of the story, but let's start there.

601 HP with another 40 HP yours for the asking in 10-second bursts by pressing "N Grin Boost". Even with its standard AWD, don't even think about doing it unless you're on a straight and empty road. Launch control helps, but seriously...Hang On! Just the base 601 HP will already give you whiplash if you floor it.

Hyundai says it'll do 0 – 60 in 3.3 seconds.   Enthusiast publications have claimed to get there in the high 2's.    It wasn't long ago that you'd need a two-million-dollar Bugatti to do that.

But like I said, acceleration is just where the story starts.

Pirelli P Zeros mounted on 21" rims with 4-piston brakes allow you to dive into corners with abandon.  Want to drift?   Just punch up the N's Drift Optimizer.

Want to personalize your front-to-rear torque?   Again, that's just a click away.

And when's the last time you drove a vehicle with "battery pre-conditioning"?

It's just one more way to customize your N's performance.

And speaking of customization…do you miss your throaty V-8 rumble?   You can dial in three different "exhaust" sounds that range from your old V-8 to tomorrow's "spaceship".   Same with your transmission shifts.   While electrics are all "one-speeds", you can dial in special effects to simulate an 8-speed auto.

So what else does the IONIC 5 N give you?

Limited slip, an electronically controlled suspension, virtually every safety alert on the market including front, rear, and side parking alerts, a surround-view monitor, heated and cooled Alcantara seating, heated steering, a hands-free rear liftgate, a 12.3" digital instrument cluster, Bose AM / FM / HD / Sirius sound…like I said…pretty much everything.

As for range, those 600+,HP will cost you a little distance, but you're still good for a little over 220 miles…and your N comes with ultra-fast DC charging capability that can take you from a 10% charge to 80% in 18 minutes.

Fast to charge…and fast on the street.   Hyundai's '25 IONIQ 5 N just might be a look at the "Supercar of Tomorrow"…and hey…it's available today.
