Enter this week's test vehicle…the Big Boy GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X in AEV trim.
So let's start with that "AEV" designation. If you don't know already, that's short for American Expedition Vehicles…and AEV has been living up to their name for decades. But '25 is their first actual partnership with GMC.

A "regular"…if you can call it that…AT4X delivers a 2-speed transfer case with front and rear locking differentials, a 2" lift with an off-road suspension and Rancho monotube shocks, 33' Goodyear Wrangler multi-terrain rubber on 18" painted aluminum rims with recessed valve stems…and on the comfort side of things, heated and ventilated heavy-duty multi-adjustable massaging front seats and heated outboard rears…
Standard power is GM's 6-cylinder, 310 HP 3.0 liter turbo diesel rated to tow up to 8,800 lbs. But hey…if you need more, GMC's 6.2 liter V-8 is an option. And with either choice, you get GM's 10-speed auto.
