CHICKPEA GYROS : Cooking w/ Ramona DeBreaux & Wayfield Foods

Ingredients:

·       1 (15 oz.) can Chickpeas

·       1 Cucumber

·       1 Dill, fresh

·       1/4 tsp Garlic powder

·       1/2 tsp Oregano

·       1 Red onion

·       1 Tomato

·       1 Yogurt sauce, creamy

·       1 Kosher salt

·       1/4 tsp Paprika

·       1 Pepper, fresh cracked

·       2 tbsp Olive oil

·       1/2 tsp Cumin

·       Pita bread

·       Feta

Directions:

1.       Dry chickpeas  thoroughly on a clean kitchen towel.

2.       Heat oil in a large pan over medium high heat.

3.       Add chickpeas to the pan and season with salt and pepper.

4.       Cook, stirring frequently for 8 minutes.

5.       Add cumin  oregano, paprika, garlic powder and another pinch of salt and pepper.

6.       Toss to coat the chickpeas evenly.

7.       Then cook for another minute or two until the chickpeas are crispy but not burned.

8.       Serve with fresh pita bread, homemade yogurt sauce (made from dill and greek yogurt), cucumber, tomato, red onion, fresh dill and crumbled feta
