Sitting down with the king of glass skin, we had the pleasure of catching up with CEO, television personality, and model Dorion Renaud to talk about the inspiration behind his skin care line, Buttah Skin.
Giving thanks to God first, Dorion added that "faith and a lot of trying and not being scared to fail," has helped him get to where he is now.
"I had bad skin growing up, that was number one," he said, even throughout college he struggled with acne and it wasn't until he began filming College Hill that he really "started picking [his self] apart."
Realizing he didn't want to live his life feeling insecure about his skin, he started to invest in skincare products like shea butter, gentle cleansers and expensive vitamin C serums. Eventually, "I just decided that with one of my checks I had from a sitcom I was doing that I was going to develop a line and hopefully I could sell it to a few people," he revealed, adding that he "put it to paper March of 2018 and launched November of 2018."
"I knew nothing about skincare," he admitted, sharing that he "has really just been learning as [he] goes," and is still learning.
But what sets Buttah Skin apart from other skin care lines? "Well we are targeted towards melanin rich skin for one. Our skin care kit in our line is customizable so you can switch things in and out and you know I think that Buttah Skin comes from the heart," Dorion said. "We are a solution based and consumer based company... I want the best," he added.
