Honda redesigned their roomy two-row Passport for '22…giving it a more rugged look.
But that's not enough for some people, right? So then Honda came out with the TrailSport version. It's got a few more "chops" than the regular Passport.
Now, even the base EX-L Passport comes quite well-equipped…with sunroof, heated leather seating, sunroof, 20" alloys, a power tailgate, Apple and Android connectivity, parking sensors and most of today's expected warnings and alerts.
The TrailSport kicks it up a notch or two. You'll get AWD with snow, mud and sand settings, semi-off-road treads on your 18" alloys, a roof rack, decent ground clearance and special orange-accent trim.
All Passports come with Honda's 3.5 liter, 280 HP V-6 and a 9-speed automatic.
That combination is good for an EPA rating of 20 City and 25 Highway. Subtract just one MPG for their AWD system.
If you can find a base model Passport it'll run you a couple dollars less than 40 thousand.
Our test TrailSport had a window sticker that read $44,090 including transportation.
But if you want to opt for a little more luxury and a little less sport, you can get a Passport in "Elite" trim, with AWD, ventilated seating and premium audio for just a few thousand more.
Whichever Passport you choose, you'll have a roomy two-row SUV that should fit in most garages and parking spaces with no real effort.
To me, the Passport TrailSport just seems to cover a few more bases for not too much more money.
