Auto NSider | 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited Hybrid AWD
Hyundai took their Tucson to the gym….and out came a seriously chiseled figure.
Let’s be honest.
Many of us have been lucky and have done little more in the last year than put on “The Covid 15”.
The more ambitious of us, however, have been in the gym.
Hyundai took their Tucson to the gym….and out came a seriously chiseled figure.
While the new outfit is just part of the ’22 Tucson story, it’s so well done…in my opinion…that it merits mention. It’s a combination of stylish creases, mild bulges, and LED surprises that make the new Santa Fe look like it’s wearing a custom-tailored $2,000 suit.
A couple of the Tucson’s competitors outsell Hyundai by around a three-to-one margin. I’ll be surprised if it’s not a much closer race in ’22...because as I said, the new look is just one part of the new Tucson story.
For starters, Hyundai offers their new two-row in a wide variety of flavors.
Starting in the mid-$20’s you’ll get your Tucson with a 187 HP, 2.5 liter four…and depending upon the level of luxury, you can opt your way into the mid / high $30’s.
If you need more “go” Hyundai offers their Tucson with their new “N-Line” performance package.
And if plug-in electric economy is how you like to roll, there’ll be plug-in Tucsons at your dealer shortly.
We, tho’, got performance, economy and luxury all in one with our test Tucson Limited Hybrid AWD.
226 HP and 36 – 37 MPG and a bevy of luxury features…all for less than 40 thousand.
Just of few of the velvet touches that you’ll get with the Limited Hybrid include heated and ventilated fronts and heated rears, heated steering and side mirrors, 19” alloys, sunroof, surround view, Bose audio, and more and more.
Plus there’s a few things that you can get on your Tucson that you just can’t get with the competition yet.
For one, Hyundai offers an Android app that functions like your key fob. You can start your Tucson from your phone…pre-heat or cool it…and in the case of multiple different drivers, it’ll even pre-set the seats, mirrors…even the radio to your specific settings.
Heated second row seating and the big 10.25” touchscreen isn’t available from the other guys yet, either…nor is Hyundai’s rear-hatch auto opener. It’ll automatically open the hatch when you’re standing behind the vehicle with your proximity key in your pocket or bag. Very handy.
I’ll be curious as to what you think about Hyundai’s new ’22 Tucson, but as for me, I’ll just say that there’s a strong new contender in the ring…ready to take on all comers for the title of “Best Two-Row SUV”.
