[Recap] V-103 50th Anniversary R&B Concert featuring Raphael Saadiq and Ari Lennox

V-103 celebrated 50 years of The People’s Station with an unforgettable anniversary concert at Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park, featuring performances from Ari Lennox and Raphael Saadiq. Before the show, Francesca Amiker and Frank Ski caught up with Saadiq backstage, while the evening also served as a reunion for generations of V-103 personalities, executives and staff who helped shape the station’s legacy and its connection to Atlanta.

Throughout the celebration, current and former V-103 personalities shared stories from the station’s five decades. Alumni including Rick Party, Carol Blackmon and former program director Tony Brown joined the festivities, while former news director Jean Ross, traffic reporter and news personality Marjorie Coley, news personality Myrna Taylor, and former General Sales Manager Keeley Collins reflected on their years at the station. Danie B and Joyce Littel also spoke with family members representing beloved V-103 personalities who are no longer with us, including the wife of the late “SiMan Baby” Alexander and Tavares Kearney the son of the late Wanda Smith, making the night not only a celebration of 50 years of music and entertainment, but also a tribute to the people who helped make V-103 an Atlanta institution.
