The Atlanta Falcons announced earlier this week that rookie Jalon Walker will don the No. 11 -- the same number as franchise legend, Julio Jones. While the organization does not have a tradition of retiring numbers, fans still had an uneasy reaction to the No. 15 pick taking the same number that he wore in college.
Jones is a beloved former member of the Falcons. The future Hall of Fame wide receiver was a seven-time Pro Bowler and a member of the NFL's All-2010s team after his 12,896 yards and 60 touchdowns over the decade he was in Atlanta.
His time with the Falcons came to an unceremonious end and he was traded to the Tennessee Titans ahead of the 2021 season.
Who knows, maybe if the Falcons start retiring jerseys then they can do two No. 11's for the price of one?
