The Atlanta Falcons have added a former top-5 draft pick in a position of need that could affect what the team is planning to do with the 8th overall pick of the NFL draft.
The Falcons have traded a 2023 fifth-round pick for Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah, who was the No. 3 overall pick of the 2020 draft following an All-American career at Ohio State.
Okudah has dealt with a number of injuries in his career, with a core muscle injury ending his rookie season, follow by a ruptured Achilles tendon in the opening game of the 2021 season.
Okudah, who started 15 games for the Lions last season, is a talented corner who couldn't stay on the field for Detroit but is being given a new chance to start in Atlanta.
With the addition of Okudah to the defensive backfield, that seems like it would take the Falcons out of the running to draft a corner at No. 8 overall.
