The Atlanta Braves announced on Tuesday they were recalling A.J. Minter from Triple-A Gwinnett while at the same time designating reliever Shane Greene for assignment.
Minter was optioned to Gwinnett on July 18 after posting a 4.86 ERA in 33 1/3 innings of work this season.
While playing for Gwinnett Minter pitched 7 2/3 innings and didn't allow a hit or run. he struck out 10 batters and walked three. Batters were a paltry 0 for 22 against him, according to the Twitter account @BravesStats.

After shining in Triple-A, Minter will look to return to 2020 form in Atlanta when he struck out 24 in 21 2/3 innings and enjoyed a 0.83 ERA.
Greene's ERA for 2021 was 8.47 and his walks-per-nine and hits-per-nine ratios had ballooned from last season.
