Even though the Falcons' draft was headlined by Michael Penix Jr., the Falcons still made it a point to fortify and add depth and versatility to their defensive line. One of the picks that helped Atlanta do that was their fourth-round pick out of Oregon, Brandon Dorlus.

The Morning Shift explained how Dorlus could make an immediate impact on the Falcons' defensive line.

“Dorlus is going to be a guy that depending on what they’re asking him to do will rotate in a lot, and defensive lines we saw last year it was like hockey the way they did the defensive line their whole line shifts," Beau Morgan said. "I think that’s how a lot of coaches use them these days to keep them fresh, but I think Dorlus has a chance to come in, earn a spot where he can get a good amount of playing time, and rotate in and out more than (JD) Bertrand.”

Former Falcons quarterback Dave Archer also said Dorlus' “versatility," ability to play multiple positions, and “slide up and down the defensive line” will help him be a part of the Falcons' defensive line rotation right away as well.

You can never have enough good defensive lineman, and if Dorlus proves to be a good defensive lineman for the Falcons he will see the field in his rookie campaign.
