Braves fans have an assignment: vote for Marcell Ozuna to be the representative at Designated Hitter the All-Star Game.

After yesterday's home run, Ozuna has 18 on the year and 55 RBI on the season, both marks leading the National League. The Braves' slugger also leads the League in slugging (.611) On-Base Plus Slugging (1.000), and several other metrics. In a normal year, he would be a shoo-in for the honor but unfortunately, he'll have to battle the name recognition of Shohei Ohtani.

Of course, Shohei Ohtani is a magnificent talent, and it's not because of his gambling ability. He became the darling of the Major Leagues when he started Cy Young's and batting titles at the same time. This season is a little bit different for the Japanese slugger, as he's still recovering from elbow surgery in September and isn't on the mound.

Despite that, Ohtani has a well-rounded resume that is right alongside Ozuna's.

The path to a start in the All-Star game in Arlington will be difficult for Ozuna, but he certainly deserves the same consideration with the type of season he's turning in for the Braves.

"You talk about a guy who has been the one stalwart," Shapiro agreed. "[Especially] when so many other guys have been laboring throughout the season."

Fans can vote up to five times per day, every day until June 27 when the first phase of All-Star voting is set to close. Ballots can be found here.
