On Wednesday Andy & Randy celebrated the Atlanta Braves winning their 5th straight National League East title after coming back from 10.5 games down to the New York Mets earlier this season.

Andy & Randy’s producer, Brian Gebhardt, brought up the fact that the Braves have won their division all 5 years since Blooper became the official mascot of the Braves. There was quite a negative reaction to the debut of Blooper in January 2018 due to his striking similarity to the Philadelphia Phillies Fanatic, among other things. But, Blooper, has done nothing but help deliver back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back division titles for the Braves organization.

“Never in my life have I paid attention to it. Blooper is now my favorite mascot, he overtakes UGA because of what he did to those kids…I’m sorry that’s Hairy,” Randy said when he was told that Blooper has won the division every year he has been a part of the Braves.

Randy then went on to share his current mascot rankings and the differences between real and fake mascots.

Andy went on to talk about Blooper’s run the last five years and how it turned around so much.

After clinching the 2-seed in the National League the Braves will sit back and wait to take on the winner of the wildcard series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals. Game 1 of the NLDS will be at Truist Park next Tuesday October 11th. The start time of that game is to be determined.

You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
