The Atlanta Braves have locked up yet another talented player for what seems like a bargain price.
The team announced on Tuesday that it had agreed to a six-year, $73 million contract with newly acquired catcher Sean Murphy. The deal includes a $15 million club option with no buyout for 2029 that would bring the deal to $88 million over seven years.

Murphy, 28, was acquired by the Braves this offseason in a three-team trade with the Oakland Athletics and Milwaukee Brewers, the latter of which received All-Star William Contreras from Atlanta in return.
Murphy is considered to be an above average defensive catcher and is a solid offensive performer, hitting .250/.332/426 with 18 home runs and 66 RBI last season in Oakland. His 134 hits, 37 doubles, 66 RBI and 229 total bases led all American League primary catchers last year.
