Moments ago the Braves announced that they have reinstated second baseman Ozzie Albies from the injured list, recalled right handed pitcher Darius Vines to Atlanta, optioned left handed pitcher Jared Shuster and infielder Vaughn Grissom to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Albies has missed the last 12 games due to left hamstring soreness, but now is ready to make the Braves lineup that much deeper and dangerous. The Braves second baseman is batting .267 with 28 home runs, 90 RBIs, and 75 runs scored in what has been a great bounce back 2023 campaign for Albies.
Despite the All-Star’s absence the Atlanta didn’t miss a beat going 9-3 in the 12 games Albies missed, and now the best team in baseball is getting one of their best players back at the perfect time. The Braves travels to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers in a four game series this weekend that could decide if the World Series runs through Atlanta or Los Angeles.
