“Credit the Braves for getting hits, I don’t care when you use some of the Dodgers pitchers they’re all really, really good and they had the lead late in the game,” Byrd said. “The Braves hitters came through and they took chances on the base pads, Ron Washington was a maniac at third base swinging the arms. Something that upsets me a little bit about LA, and if you’re a writer listening to me or whatever I want you to hear this, give the Atlanta Braves credit. Your team is not losing, the Atlanta Braves are winning, they’re out playing you right now.”

“Baseball is a game where you already said it’s not the best players that win, it’s the best team and anything can happen in baseball when these guys get excited, the great chemistry they play above the level maybe. You have a guy hitting .220 who’s tearing it up, Rosario in this series is so excited to be here, he’s hitting .556! How do you manage against a guy who’s hitting .556, who’s hot with crazy energy and a crowd that’s going nuts? That’s not easy, so if you’re listening to me LA, give my guys some credit.”
