Bally Sports reporter Kelly Crull joined Dukes & Bell and talked about how the Hawks overcame an 18 point deficit last night to even their series with the Sixers, and was John Collins the spark last night to the team’s come from behind win?
Crull talked about the energy that Collins brought to the team’s rally last night.
“Coming out in that third quarter and seeing JC just rip off the regular clothes and put on that superman cape, which is what I felt like he did,” Crull said. “He just turned into this beast, I just asked him point blank what got into you in the third quarter, and he responded with, what you mean? I was like what do I mean, you took over the ball game and he’s got that big grin on his face, he knew exactly what I was alluding to, he just wanted to play it up a little bit more.”
“He came to life, he turned the ballgame around, I felt like his energy and athleticism, seven points doesn’t necessarily pop out at you in the third quarter alone but he was everywhere, on the offensive glass was what Doc pointed out. I think again that can be a stat that’s overlooked, when you do that you allow your team more opportunities, I thought his play in that third quarter was the catalyst to the run they were able to go on.”
