It starts with the young men and ladies at little league baseball, youth soccer and pop warner football fields. It carries over to glory years of high school competition. And for those lucky and super talented athletes, it follows them all the way to college and maybe even professional athletics. What are we talking about?
SPORTS AND SUPERSTITIONS.....
We have heard them all.
The football player that doesn’t wash their uniform after a good game. The soccer star that will eat the same meal before every match. The boxer who will only enter the ring wearing their lucky trunks. Or how about dedicated fan that drives the same route every time they come to the stadium.
We’ve heard them all, and now in the case of Atlanta Hawks PF Danilo Gallinari, we have seen them all.
Even Hawks GM Travis Schlenk while on the Morning Show with John and Hugh, has admitted on several occasions that himself and two other Hawks executives have their lucky seats at State Farm Arena.
This past Monday of the show, Schlenk went on to tell John and Hugh that he was not surprised when Gallinari showed up to the Hawks playoff series vs the Knicks with his new look.
Correction, old look.
Travis quickly pointed out that Danilo has worn his “Playoffs Hawk” in the past as a member of other NBA teams.
Can we assume that “The Hawk” was first created when Gallinari was a young player growing up in Italy?
However, what we now know, is that after the Atlanta Hawks went into MSG and pulled out a hard fought 107-105 victory in Game 1 of the series vs the Knicks, no matter where “The Hawk” was created.
It now lives in the A, and it is here to stay.
