The Atlanta Braves were dealt a tough blow to their starting rotation on Monday.
Huascar Ynoa, who has been the Braves best pitcher to this point, was placed on the 10-day IL and expected to miss a couple of months. Ynoa punched the dugout wall following his poor performance on Sunday.
Brian Snitker also gave an update on Mike Soroka, who will likely miss the entire season.
The loss of Ynoa, and Soroka not coming back for the foreseeable future, leaves the Braves with Max Fried and Ian Anderson as the two-main stays in their rotation. Who is that third guy right now?
Bally Sports South Braves analyst, Peter Moylan, joined the Midday Show and discussed which player needs to step up most with the injuries piling on.
"It's now or never," Moylan said.
"The personnel is there. Bryse Wilson looked pretty good the last time he was out. I'd like to see him get another crack at it first. They signed Tanner Roark the other day. This is like the under the radar signing from a couple of weeks go.
When you put Tanner Roark and Trevor Bauer's stats together before last year, they're basically the same pitcher. So he's the most underrated guy out there. I think he can really help us in the second half for sure."
If you're going to pick one of those guys, which guy do you think that it will be that lifts the team?
