Atlanta Falcons fans are 82 days away from the start of the regular season and more importantly, they will see the Michael Penix Jr. era begin and questions about how explosive the Falcons’ offense will be this season will be answered.
“The potential is there, there’s no question,” Audacy NFL Insider and Pro Bowler, Mark Schlereth, said on Tuesday as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell and shared his thoughts on how well of a sophomore season the Falcons’ signal caller may have this season.
“Arm talent wise, his ability, going back to college was amazing. Obviously, the injury thing notwithstanding, but he certainly looks the part,” Schlereth continued, further explaining he believes how offensive coordinator, Zac Robinson, utilizes Penix Jr. will determine if he will reach his full potential.
“The one thing about that offense, and I know the offense probably better than I know the player, is that when you tie it all together, you tie that running game together with that pass game, especially with the backs you guys have in Atlanta, good things are bound to happen,” Schlereth said making a case for the Falcons to be able to take advantage of Penix Jr.’s arm talent.
