While the Atlanta Braves have been a bit up and down since returning to action following the All-Star Break, they capped their weekend with a series sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers and what may have been most important in the three straight wins was the bats of the bottom of their lineup, that include Eddie Rosario, Orlando Arcia and Marcell Ozuna, producing some big hits.
“For the three days, seven, eight, nine, they were 12 for 31, that’s a .387 batting average,” 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery said of the trio’s performance over the weekend.
Prior to Atlanta’s set with the Brewers, Rosario, Arcia and Ozuna had all been in a “cold streak” as they had combined to go 7-for-41 at the plate through four games and the Braves going 1-3 in that stretch. And while Chuckery states that he is not trying to make a direct correlation to the Braves success to the performance of those three players in particular, he does believe that it is worth noting that as the trio produced at the plate against the Brewers over the weekend, Atlanta swept the series.
“They get hot and you start turning that lineup over, and guess what, Ronnie, Ozzie, Olson, Riley, those guys are getting more at bats now," said Chuckery. "And that starts with the bottom of the order.
"When they get things cranked up, you’re not going to beat Atlanta. You’re not going to beat the Braves."
