The Atlanta Hawks are back at .500 after a comeback victory in Minnesota. The four games they have played so far have been split exactly down the middle. Two contests to begin the season were losses of epic proportions.
The next two wins against Milwaukee and last night’s victory told a completely different story. One constant for the team so far has been Jalen Johnson. His emergence has been crucial to the team bouncing back.
Johnson is averaging 14.5 points per game and shooting 40% from three-point range in the first four contests. He has been electric on the court aside from his counting stats, taking flight on several key dunks and making athletic plays. He will continue to be counted on to fill the void that John Collins left after the team traded him to Utah in the offseason.
The team has a winnable contest on Wednesday vs the Wizards before heading to New Orleans to take on Zion Williamson and the Pelicans. If the Hawks are to go on a run, Jalen Johnson will be a big contributor and should see his role expand even more.
