Stephanie T. Rance has a vision. A co-Founder of Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, Rance's dream is to gather women of color together to share and fellowship. The dream is being realized, as a roomful of women came together recently in Atlanta for lunch and conversation. Rance's C-Suite Series features women leaders in education, media, film, politics, and entrepreneurship.
"It's a way for Black and Brown women to come together to network, help each other out, to fellowship and make new friends," says Rance adding, "It's really important that we have a space that we call our own, can let our hair down and have really meaningful conversations."
The Atlanta conversation was moderated by Shaunya Chavis Rucker with Fulton Films and featured Nicolle Parsons-Pollard, Chief Academic Affairs at Georgia State University; Bobbie Robinson, Co-owner of Harold’s Chicken and Ice Bar; Latosha Brown, Co-founder of Black Voters Matter Fund; Deanna Hamilton, President/CEO of CIRCLEONE; and Actor/Director Kaye Singleton.
Started in 2021, C-Suite kicked off in Martha's Vineyard, another was in Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta last week, September in Boston, and Washington D.C. in October. Rance says C-Suite will be back on the Vineyard in New England followed by a three-day summit set for Ghana next year.
The gathering in Atlanta was held at 5Church in Buckhead. It was hosted by Fulton Films and St. John, which provided models wearing its latest designs and a shopping excursion for those attending the luncheon.
