On Thursday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by 92.9 The Game Atlanta Braves reporter Joe Patrick, who ranked the Braves starting pitchers in terms of who he has the most confidence in right now.
“Max Fried still has to be number 1 despite the fact that I think that Kyle Wright’s numbers are probably better than him through the course of the year but just based on who Max Fried is, what he has done in his career – you have to put him at number one. But I think then you have to put Kyle Wright at number 2 right there behind him,” said Patrick.
“Then that’s where it gets really interesting because Charlie Morton and Ian Anderson have both been kind of just like ok so far this year and to me if the 5th starter is Spencer Strider… Spencer Strider is right up there with those 2 right now I mean I know he didn’t get the stat line he would have wanted out of the last game but in terms of him like going out there and being able to use that arm talent – he might be right up there for me honestly as number 3. I would probably put Ian Anderson at 4 and I can’t believe I am saying this but I think I might have Charlie Morton as my least confident because it seems to me he has been the most erratic over the course of the season and you don’t know what you are going to get from him,” Patrick added.
