Should Brian Snitkers lineup change be long-term?

The Morning Shift discusses if Ozzie in the 2 spot and Matt Olson in the 5 hole is change that should become permanent

Brian Snitker’s shake up of the lineup benefited Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson last night. Ozzie Albies went three for four with three RBIs, and Matt Olson went two for four, scored two runs, and hit a mammoth 456-foot home run.

After the game last night the Braves skipper said he may do the same thing with the lineup today, and after the results the change provided last night there’s nothing wrong with riding the hot lineup. The Morning Shift gave their thoughts on the lineup change last night, and talked about if this is a lineup Atlanta should move forward with long term.

Beau Morgan believes the lineup Snitker put out last night should be tweaked ever so slightly. “If you’re going to move Olson around I’d like [Matt] Olson at three and [Austin] Riley at four and [Sean] Murphy at five or vice versa because I think that could extend the lineup.” Morgan said.

Mike Johnson disagreed and thinks that lineup last night is the way to go because of the speed and strength Albies has, and the extra RBI opportunities Matt Olson would likely get in the five hole.

“I kinda like the lineup like that, I think Albies gives you a little more speed near the top, I don’t want to say he’s been a contact hitter, he’s hitting for power, heck I think his 15 home runs is second on the team right now, so you still have a little bit of pop at the top of the lineup, but you move Matt Olson back, who now has 19 home runs, probably has a few more RBI opportunities.” Johnson said.

It’ll be a wait and see game to see if one, Brian Snitker sticks with this lineup, and two, if having Ozzie in the two spot and Matt at the five makes a potent Braves offense even more dangerous. We will get one answer soon enough as the Braves lineup for tonight’s game against the Rockies will be out in a couple of hours.
