The 2024 season of NFL free agency has been crazy to say the least, maybe even strange. Russell Wilson goes to the Steelers, then Justin Fields goes to the Steelers? A lot of backup quarterbacks have traded places, and the Houston Texans just keep getting richer. One team that made a not-so-strange move is the Atlanta Falcons signing former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, giving him a record contract for a free agent quarterback. But now what do they do? Believe it or not, the Falcons still have some money left after guaranteeing Kirk Cousins $100 million.
Just about every mock drafter out there has the Falcons going defense with the number eight pick in the draft, and that makes sense since the Falcons have been lacking a pass rush for several years now. But is this what the Falcons will do? With several free agent pass rushers still on the market, dare the Falcons sign a free agent pass rusher and take yet another offensive player in the first round? Randy McMichael and John Fricke discuss what to do with the remaining money that the Falcons have, and where they should spend it.
