The Atlanta Braves may have had the most battle-tested season this year and yet, despite all the injuries they have dealt with, in addition to their offensive struggles at the plate, they have managed to advance to the MLB playoffs for the seventh consecutive season.

And while the season has been more of a seesaw ride for Atlanta, they have been able to rely on Marcell Ozuna for their best source of consistency as he found himself in the midst of the triple crown race for the better part of the second half of the 2024 season. He finished the regular season with a .302 batting average, 39 home runs, and 104 RBI.

So it was only right that the Braves designated hitter came through with a clutch two-run single to give the Braves a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning in Game 2 of their double header with the Mets on Monday as Atlanta won by that same score to earn a postseason berth. “He is a hero in Braves Country forever,” Steak Shapiro said on Tuesday as he and Sandra Golden discussed the Braves win.

“Sign him tomorrow for the extension,” Golden said as she noted her agreement with Shapiro’s statement on Ozuna’s performance this season and his eventual game-winning hit on Monday, which they both agreed has been the type of production the Braves have been receiving from Ozuna the majority of the season.
