The Atlanta Braves are 49-51 through 100 games and remain five games back of the New York Mets in the National League East as MLB's trade deadline approaches on July 30.

92.9 The Game reporter Joe Patrick joined the Midday Show and said if the Braves do surprise us this week in their series against the Mets, he could see the Braves bringing in more bullpen pieces and getting rid of one name we've been used to this season.

"I actually wouldn't be surprised if they are kind of selling off players; if they would offer out a guy like Will Smith, a reliever who's on a big contract, who's maybe--I don't know if you'd say he's under-performed but he's certainly hasn't over-performed," Patrick told Andy and J.R.

In 42 games, Smith has 39.2 innings pitched, 20 saves and a 3.40 ERA.

"I could see them parting with some of these bullpen pieces that they don't particularly feel strong about."
