Atlanta Braves Manager Walt Weiss had no ill intent behind his tackle of former Brave and 2021 World Series MVP Jorge Soler, but this now viral moment has seemingly gotten all of Braves Country behind Atlanta’s new manager and The Morning Shift talked about it earlier today.
“I mean if you were looking to make a first impression and let people know who you are or what you’re capable of I think Walt Weiss checked a couple of boxes yesterday, and talk about you know going out there and making an impression on your team, does my manager have my back, well yeah I would say so. If you go get in a scrape, Walt Weiss will come in and go ahead and take care of you.” Braves insider and reporter Grant McAuley said
Early on in the season it seems like the Braves skipper has been much more willing to make daily and matchup based lineup adjustments than former manager Brian Snitker was, and it also seems like Weiss just has a little bit more fire to him than Snitker did, but if those things alone didn’t have all of Braves country behind him tackling a Braves legend certainly does.
