For the second straight year the Atlanta Falcons drafted another popular Georgia Bulldog, and this time it was wide receiver Zachariah Branch, and earlier today former Atlanta Falcons quarterback and now analyst for the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network Dave Archer explained why Branch is going to be a “problem” in the red zone for opposing defenses.
“Get ready for this guy to be a problem in the red zone. It’s one thing to use him on jet sweeps and screens and all that crap and shallow crosses, wait until you get him stacked in behind Drake London in the red zone and what he can do. Go back and look at some of the tape he did with Colbie Young and some of those guys that were the bigger receivers stacked in front of him and what he can do down there as a short area quickness guy and his ability to run routes, he’s going to devastate people.” Archer said
Branch seems like the perfect complementary receiver to London, and it does seem like the possibilities are limitless as far as how the Falcons will be able to use the two receivers to complement each other in the passing game.
