Camille Russell Love, Executive Director of the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs joined On Point with Juandolyn Stokes to invite listeners to the 46th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival this Memorial Day Weekend in the Piedmont Park Meadow area across from Midtown High School, formerly Grady High School. And, best of all, it’s FREE!
Whatever your taste in jazz-sultry vocalists, contemporary, traditional, swing, fusion or Latin jazz, this year’s Jazz Festival is sure to satisfy you.
“We have an outstanding line-up of young artists, emerging artists, and legends,” said Love.
Parking is limited and can result in you getting booted, towed, or ticketed. Therefore, its best if you seek parking in a surrounding location like Colony Square, the Botanical Gardens or simply use MARTA’s Midtown or Arts Centers Stations. If biking is your thing, you can use the free bike valet.
“There will be plenty of food, drinks, vendors, and great weather,” added Love.
There is also something special for children including a Hip Hop reading events with free books for 300 kids, and a percussion workshop for aspiring jazz musicians with instruments and T-shirts also for up 300 kids.
Each day of the jazz festival features an array of popular artist like David Sanchez, Wynton Marsalis, Stanley Clarke, and Ledisi.
