What is it…Luxury or Sport?
Were you ever in the military…or just watch a movie about basic training?
If so, you'll certainly remember how…no matter how immaculate and buttoned-up your bunk or your uniform was, ol' Sarge could find something wrong…even if it was a spot of dirt on the bottom of your boot…right?
That's kinda' how I felt reviewing the Genesis G70 3.3T Sport. In short, "What's not to like??
Yes…if your taste still runs toward sedans, this mid-sized four-door pretty much checks off whatever boxes you may have.
Looking for luxury? Check.
Does athletic performance push your buttons? Check again.
The Genesis G70 comes in both 252 HP 2.0 turbo four cylinder form…or "overkill"…a 365 HP 3.3 liter turbo six. The four starts in the mid $30's…and the six about ten-thousand more. AWD is available or either for an additional $2,000.
We got lucky and tested the rear-wheel-drive version of the "overkill" version. Depending upon equipment, the 3.3 Turbo can be yours for between the mid $40's to the mid $50's. And for a legitimate performance / luxury vehicle, those are very competitive prices. More than one auto enthusiast magazine has even rated the Genesis G70 ahead of at least one well-known German sport sedan.
Again, squint as hard as you like…it's hard to find anything missing.
Heated and cooled Nappa leather, 19" alloys with Michelin Pilot Sport rubber, 15-speaker surround-sound, parking distance warning, heads-up display, sunroof, wireless charging and more…plus track-worthy performance…all yours in the 3.3T Genesis G70 Sport.
The only change that this "Sarge" would like to see is another inch or two or rear seat legroom. Don't' change the classic and timeless shape of the body, tho'…as the G70 has classic proportions, and looks like it will probably still look current 20 years from now!
