Greater Atlanta McDonald's Owner/Operators are giving back to the comminutes that they serve through their Golden Grants program.

Dave Hamilton, President of the McDonalds Local Operator Association, says the Golden Grants program is an Atlanta-exclusive program that provides grants totaling up to $40,000 for educational resources to help teachers and other individuals who are committed to fueling and inspiring K-12 student learning. During a recent press conference, a representative from the Paulding County School District, as well as a representative from the Newton County Foundation for Educational Excellence, were surprised with the two programs' two top grants of $20,000 and $10,000, respectively.

Georgia Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan represented Paulding County and had the honor to present a check for 20K to the Paulding County School District for their Homeless Education Liaison Program. Dugan says the grant will benefit the county and provide resources to those who have so little.

Watch as local McDonald's Owner/Operators, Georgia Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan, and State Sen. Brian Strickland give back to the community:

Every submission was judged based on creativity, innovation, need, and hands-on application of projects that included arts and crafts programs, education initiatives, mentorship and empowerment programs, after-school programs, community service outreach, sporting programs and activities, and more.
