There’s a reason I ask.

If you’re looking for a genuine “Top Dog”, heaven knows you’ve got choices…lots of ‘em…ranging from half a million bucks down to $50’s and $60’s.

And that’s exactly where Nissan throws their wrench into the mix…their loaded Armada brings a whole lotta’ “game” at what might be considered an almost bargain price.

Let’s take a look:

There are three levels of Armada trim…and all are beefy. The base SV brings a 425 HP 3.5-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, capable of towing 8,500 lbs., and a 9-speed automatic. Plus, you get an “invisible hood” that gives you superb forward visibility in rough terrain, and an adaptable air suspension that gives you not only a comfortable ride but also the ability to raise your vehicle in rough terrain and lower it for high-speed highway travel.

You can seat up to eight…and that’s all for right around 60 thousand.

Want more? If so, there’s no need to leave the Nissan store. For less than 5 thousand more, the SL adds a more attractive faux leather interior, 20” alloys, all-around-view, and Nissan “Connect”.

It’s the Platinum, tho’, that brings all that Nissan has to the game. Starting at around 80 thousand, you get quilted heated and ventilated leather fronts with massage that look like they belong in an Infiniti, second-row captains’ chairs with quick release for third-row access, a panoramic sunroof, 22” alloys, and a healthy array of trailer-towing features.

A few options, like ProPILOT 2,1 brought “eyes-on / hands and feet off” highway comfort. With a healthy $2,190 transportation fee, our bottom line rises to $89,045, comfortably under six figures, but with all the comfort and capability of vehicles costing tens of thousands more.
