
This week Juandolyn Stokes and Teresa Hardy talk about The NAACP being 112 yrs old, and is the oldest civil rights organization. The organization was most active during the civil rights movement, then went through a stagnant period, but the same issues that were prevalent during the 60s i.e. voting rights, inequality have resurfaced in 2021. Hardy shares with Stokes her "Good Trouble" was influenced by John Lewis.
Hardy opens up about the new definition of fighting, which is getting to the table to change policies, bills, and laws for the betterment of the our communities. She says protesting is bringing awareness to an issue that needs to be changed. Experience is what teaches you when to march, when to write a letter, when to join the PTA, or when to run for office or join an advocacy group.
