James Bell, Head of Corporate Communications for Kia America joined On Point with Juandolyn Stokes live from the floor of the Consumer Electronics Show to highlight the benefits of electric vehicles.
Electric vehicles are gaining in popularity, but some consumers still question how they compare to the age-old gas-powered vehicle.
“We are transitioning to electrification. Gas powered cars will feel very old, very soon,” said Bell.
Electric vehicles can travel about 300 miles on a single car charge.
Bell says the average American travels 28 miles per day.
An unforeseen benefit of electric cars is that they can be used to power your home too, with only about a 10-15% increase in your electric bill, this according to Bell is cheaper than gas.
Plus, electric cars only have about five parts compared to gas powered cars that have about 20 parts, which diminish with wear and tear, adds Bell.
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) also offers incentives for consumers with electric vehicles.
Bell forecasts all electric cars one day in the future.
