Empowering Voices: NCBW President Virginia Harris on Voter Registration and the 22nd Biennial Conference

On September 15, National Voter Registration Day, Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler, host of the Wake Up with Dee Morning Show on News & Talk WAOK, welcomed Virginia Harris, President of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW). The discussion highlighted the critical importance of checking voter registration status and preparing to vote, empowering communities to make their voices heard. Harris also shared exciting details about the upcoming 22nd Biennial Conference, set to be an unforgettable experience.

The conference, scheduled for October 8–12, 2025, at the Signia Hilton San Jose (3170 S Market Street, San Jose, CA 95113), will bring together over 1,050 attendees from major cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Orlando, and San Francisco. Hosted by actor and producer Jonathan Slocumb as the master of ceremonies, the event will feature appearances by Rev. Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant and iconic journalist Monica Kaufman Pearson, adding to the dynamic celebration of NCBW’s mission to empower Black women and girls through advocacy, education, and economic opportunities.

Founded in 1981, NCBW is a 45-year-old 501(c)(3) advocacy organization with over 4,800 members. The organization drives change through transformative programs and strategic partnerships, focusing on education, health, economic empowerment, and public policy. From advancing leadership development to addressing critical community challenges, NCBW remains a powerful force for progress.
