Looking for someone to blame for the UGA loss? Start with Kirby Smart

The Georgia Bulldogs did not look ready to go on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa against Alabama and they immediately fell behind 28-0. While they eventually got back into the game, even taking the lead for a few seconds late in the 4th Quarter, the blame for starting slow has to fall on Kirby Smart in this one.

Slow starts offensively are nothing new for the Georgia offense, especially the last two seasons under Carson Beck, but rarely does Georgia play a game on the defensive side of the ball where they are pushed around, but that's what Jalen Milroe and the Alabama offense did to them in the first half.

Certainly the players have to take responsibility, Carson Beck turned the ball over four times and the secondary let Alabama freshman Wide Receiver go for 177 yards and the game-winning touchdown, but in a first-half where UGA had no answers on defense, Kirby Smart couldn't come up with one. He was out-coached by Kalen DeBoer early in this game and despite some adjustments late, Georgia still took their first regular season loss since November of 2020.
