(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Former Chicago Bears safety Roosevelt Taylor — who did not miss a single game in nearly a decade with the team — has passed away. He was 82.
The two-time Pro Bowler died Friday, the Bears announced.
The New Orleans native played for the Bears from 1961-69, appearing in more than 100 games, starting in most of them. He had 23 interceptions and four defensive touchdowns.
Taylor was traded by the Bears in 1969, later playing for the 49ers and the Redskins.
He was ranked as the 56th best player in Bears history in 2019, the team's centennial.
